Speech &amp; Phonetic Research

Speech Recording



The speech lab has five acoustically treated recording booths.  It is possible to record a participant in each booth simultaneously allowing for directed speech experiments with up to 5 participants.  Each booth is equipped with a Røde 1000 large diaphrame condensor microphone and DT 770 head phones.  Alternativly there are also DT250 headsets.</description>

Location

The LiRI lab is located in the basement of Andreasstrasse 15 in room -1.77.  

Finding the Lab

When entering Andreasstrasse 15, go through both sets of automatic doors into the atrium and take lift C to the basement.  After exiting the lift turn left and go through the door into the stairwell and then through the door on the other side of the stair well.  The door to the lab is on your left.</description>

EEG

Three BrainProducts ActiChamp EEG systems available for use outside the Lab.  Each system is capable of recording 32 to 128 channels.

Eye tracking

Two Eyelink Protable Duo screen-based eye trackers.  Two Tobii Glasses 3 wearable eye trackers and two Pupil Labs wearable eye trackers.</description>

LiRI also has licences for a varity of software both for experiment presentation and data analysis.  These are available both for loan with a laptop or on a dedicated data processing system in the lab.  LiRI also hosts its own RedCap server for research data collection and serveys.  LiII also has a lab subscription to the Gorilla online experiment platform.</description>

Working with us

Each LiRI project must be registered and have a designated principal investigator. This person, primarily responsible for the content, realization and finance of the project. The primary user can authorize further researchers, associate LiRI users. All users must be registered in order to have access to the LiRI booking system and infrastructure.</description>

The use of the LiRI lab is free for BA and MA students for both student projects and thesis projects; subject to availability and the normal project approval process.  PhD students need to meet the costs of their project, however they can apply to LiZZ for a voucher to cover the lab costs.  More information can found on the LiZZ website</description>
